Leírás
BloomDesk Chatbot connects your WordPress site to the BloomDesk customer support platform. Let AI answer visitors and take over any conversation when you want to reply personally, without losing its history.
AI features require a plan that includes them, and AI usage is billed separately. Human-only live chat is also available, including on the Free plan.
Availability: BloomDesk is currently a B2B service for businesses in Poland. Creating an account requires company details and acceptance of the terms of use.

Who it’s for
BloomDesk is designed for small and medium-sized service businesses that want to respond to website visitors faster, improve customer contact, and generate more leads.
It is a good fit for agencies, consultants, local service companies, and other service businesses where conversations with potential customers are an important part of the sales process.
BloomDesk is not currently designed for online stores that require direct access to product catalogs, stock levels, prices, or other e-commerce data.
How it works
Visitors send messages through the widget on your website. BloomDesk stores the conversation history and delivers replies to the same widget. When enabled, the AI assistant answers automatically; a human operator can take over and continue the conversation from the BloomDesk dashboard. You manage conversations in BloomDesk.
Get started
Create a BloomDesk account and connect your WordPress site to a team. The Installation section explains how to configure the webhook URL, add your site’s Origin, and display the widget.
External services
This plugin depends on the external BloomDesk service to provide chat functionality. External requests begin after an administrator configures a BloomDesk webhook URL and visitors use the chat.
BloomDesk (required for chat)
- Service: BloomDesk
- Terms of use: Terms of use
- Privacy policy: Privacy policy
The BloomDesk terms of use and privacy policy are currently available in Polish.
The plugin connects to BloomDesk when:
- a visitor sends a message
- the widget checks for new messages
- a visitor confirms or declines a chat action proposed by the service
Visitor message text and page context are sent to BloomDesk so that the chat can operate.
Data sent to BloomDesk may include:
- message text (
chatInput) and the session ID - page URL, page title, and user agent inside
metadata - source marker (
widget) and supported client capabilities (actions,room_switch) - the site’s
Originheader, added by the plugin on the server - when checking for messages:
externalSessionId,afterId, and polling information - when confirming or declining a proposal:
externalSessionId - when reCAPTCHA is enabled: a short-lived session pass issued by this WordPress site after verification
The BloomDesk webhook token is added to requests on the WordPress server and is not exposed to the visitor’s browser.
The Google reCAPTCHA token itself is not sent to BloomDesk.
The visitor’s IP address is not included in the chat request body sent to BloomDesk. The WordPress site uses the address for local rate limiting and, when reCAPTCHA is enabled, for Google’s verification request.
Data received from BloomDesk includes chat messages from AI or human operators and session metadata required to continue the conversation.
Google reCAPTCHA (optional)
Google reCAPTCHA is used only when an administrator enables it and saves the required configuration.
- Service: Google reCAPTCHA
- Privacy policy: Privacy policy
- Terms of use: Terms of use
When reCAPTCHA is enabled, the visitor’s browser loads https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api.js and displays the reCAPTCHA checkbox.
Google may receive the visitor’s IP address and interaction data according to Google’s own privacy policy. After the visitor completes the verification, this site’s server sends the reCAPTCHA token and the visitor’s IP address (REMOTE_ADDR) to https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api/siteverify.
Source code
The JavaScript and CSS included with this plugin are provided in human-readable source form.
The file assets/js/widget.js is both the source and runtime file. It is not compiled, bundled, or minified, and there is no JavaScript build step.
Other scripts in assets/js/ — including backend-connection.js, admin.js, btcb-defaults.js, appearance-preview.js, recaptcha.js, translations.js, and dashboard-hero.js — are also original source files.
Stylesheets in assets/css/ are likewise included as their original source.

GYIK
-
Do I need a BloomDesk account?
-
Yes. BloomDesk Chatbot is a client for the BloomDesk service and requires a BloomDesk account and webhook URL to provide chat functionality.
BloomDesk is currently a B2B service for businesses in Poland.
-
Is there a free plan?
-
Yes. The Free plan includes the chat widget and human live chat.
AI features require a plan that includes them. AI usage is billed separately based on consumption.
Adding funds to the AI usage wallet does not by itself enable AI features.
Current plans are available at BloomDesk. Billing conditions are described in the terms of use.
-
Can I use the chat without AI?
-
Yes. BloomDesk can work as a human-only live chat.
When AI is available and enabled, a human operator can take over the conversation from the BloomDesk dashboard. The conversation history remains available in BloomDesk.
-
Where do I see conversations and reply to visitors?
-
In the BloomDesk dashboard.
WordPress displays the widget and acts as a proxy between the visitor and BloomDesk, but conversations are managed from BloomDesk rather than WordPress admin.
-
Does the chat slow down my site?
-
The widget’s JavaScript and CSS are served from your own WordPress site. The widget is not an embedded copy of the BloomDesk dashboard.
Like any front-end functionality, the plugin still adds its own JavaScript and CSS to pages where the widget is used.
-
Is the widget available in Polish?
-
Yes. The widget supports Polish and English.
It can follow the WordPress locale automatically or use a language selected under BloomDesk Chatbot Widget.
-
Can I match the widget to my website?
-
Yes. Under BloomDesk Chatbot Appearance you can adjust colors, size, shape, and text, then preview the result live. Choose a light or dark theme, or let the widget follow the visitor’s system preference.
-
Does the widget show a „Powered by BloomDesk” link?
-
Not by default.
An administrator can enable the optional „Powered by BloomDesk” link under BloomDesk Chatbot Widget.
-
Where do I paste the webhook URL?
-
Open BloomDesk Chatbot Connection in WordPress admin and paste the full webhook URL provided by BloomDesk.
Paste the complete URL, including
/ai/webhook/{token}. Then copy the site’s Origin from the same WordPress screen into the team’s general chat settings in BloomDesk and save it.The webhook URL is stored on the WordPress server. Its token is added to requests server-side and is not sent to the visitor’s browser.
-
What does the plugin store in WordPress?
-
Chat transcripts are not stored in the WordPress database.
The active conversation is temporarily stored in the visitor’s browser session storage so that the widget can maintain the current conversation during that browser session.
The plugin stores its configuration and a hash of the browser owner token. Rate-limit counters use temporary WordPress transients and expire automatically.
Uninstalling the plugin removes its settings and session-ownership tables (
btcb_settingsandbtcb_session_owners, with your WordPress table prefix) and the plugin options.Information about processing by BloomDesk is available in the privacy policy.
-
How is access to a visitor’s conversation protected?
-
The anonymous widget does not use a logged-in WordPress user nonce.
The first message creates a browser ownership cookie. Later reads and writes for that conversation, including proposal confirmation and rejection, require the same ownership cookie.
Requests without the matching ownership cookie are rejected. Message reads before the first message are refused.
If Google reCAPTCHA is enabled, its verification happens before the conversation is created.
-
Can I override settings in wp-config.php?
-
Yes. Optional WordPress constants can override selected values stored in the plugin settings.
The plugin does not read a
.envfile from its directory.Available constants:
BTCB_SAAS_WEBHOOK_URL— full webhook URL including/ai/webhook/{token}. This constant does not automatically enable footer placement.BTCB_RECAPTCHA_SECRET— Google reCAPTCHA secret key.BTCB_RATE_LIMIT_PER_MINUTE— per-minute rate limit.BTCB_RATE_LIMIT_PER_DAY— daily rate limit.0disables the daily limit.
Example:
define('BTCB_SAAS_WEBHOOK_URL', 'https://example.com/ai/webhook/your-token'); -
I already use the [bloomtech_chatbot] shortcode. Will it still work?
-
Yes.
[bloomtech_chatbot]remains supported for compatibility. For new installations, use the current
[bloomdesk_chatbot]shortcode.
