What is GDPR?

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a comprehensive privacy regulation that will replace the current Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC, with an implementation date of May 25, 2018. In April 2016, after more than four years of negotiation, the European Union approved the GDPR, with the goals of strengthening and harmonizing data protection regulation for individuals across the EU and strengthening the digital economy in the EU. The GDPR is directly applicable to member states without the need for implementing national legislation.

For more information and resources about GDPR, visit the IAB Europe’s GDPR informational website.

To whom does the GDPR apply?

The GDPR applies to any business, whether or not it is based in the EU, that processes the personal data of EU citizens. The GDPR applies to these businesses even if the goods or services that they offer are free.

the plugin slows dowh the website and even blocks it. and i don’t know why the consent link has to appear on every page and even within the admin pages, this makes no sense at all !!!! even if you can hide the link on the frontend by adding a little css: .qc-cmp-persistent-link {display:none;}

Easy to install, featuring French among other languages, and working perfectly out of the box. An elegant and intuitive solution that, so far, does the trick without bearing on my site’s performance. Thanks!

I will give it five stars whenever the devs will fix the loading time of the website. Without the plugin my website loads in 0.80 – 0.85 seconds. After I activate the plugin the loading time drops to 1.35 – 1.40 seconds. If I deactivate the plugin is gonna get back to 0.8. I can understand if is loading slower before the user accepts the GDPR terms. But even after this the website drops in speed. I have no idea why this is happening and I have no idea if a website initial load is 4 seconds if is gonna drop to 6. This is just my experience with the plugin, and except that loading time, wow, man what a plugin. If you guys don’t care about the speed this is a 5 star GDPR plugin. Thank you.
