Dashboard Video Widget allows you to embed videos from YouTube, Vimeo, or local MP4 files directly in your WordPress dashboard. Perfect for providing quick access to tutorial videos, company announcements, or training materials for your team.

External Services
This plugin connects to external video platforms to display embedded videos in the WordPress dashboard widget. The following services are used:
YouTube
- Service: Video embedding from YouTube (provided by Google LLC)
- Usage: When a YouTube video is added to the widget, the plugin embeds it using YouTube’s iframe player
- Data Transmission: Video ID is sent to YouTube’s servers when the dashboard widget loads
- Terms of Service: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms
- Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Vimeo
- Service: Video embedding from Vimeo
- Usage: When a Vimeo video is added to the widget, the plugin embeds it using Vimeo’s iframe player
- Data Transmission: Video ID is sent to Vimeo’s servers when the dashboard widget loads
- Terms of Service: https://vimeo.com/terms
- Privacy Policy: https://vimeo.com/privacy
Note: For local MP4 videos, no external services are used as the videos are served directly from your WordPress installation.

- Upload the plugin files to the
/wp-content/plugins/dashboard-video-widgetdirectory, or install the plugin through the WordPress plugins screen directly. - Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ screen in WordPress
- Use the Settings->Video Widget screen to configure the plugin

Can I use other video platforms?

Currently, the plugin supports YouTube, Vimeo, and local MP4 videos. Support for additional platforms may be added in future updates.

How do I add a video?

- Go to Settings -> Video Widget
- Click „Add Video”
- Enter the video title, optional note, select the video type (YouTube/Vimeo/Local), and paste the video URL
- Click Save Changes
