– Site URL and license key are sent when validating or activating a license.
– Published post and page content (titles, body text, excerpt, permalinks, and post IDs) are transmitted when synchronizing content for semantic vector indexing.
– Visitor chat messages are transmitted to the backend endpoint when a user asks a question in the chat widget.
* Purpose: Stores vector embeddings in the cloud database, executes similarity searches, orchestrates AI responses, and validates licenses.

* What data is sent and when: Visitor browser verification tokens are validated when the chat widget is opened.
* Purpose: Optional CAPTCHA-free bot, spam, and abuse prevention.

Privacy & Data Handling

This plugin sends data to the external backend to provide AI search and chat capabilities:
* License and URL: transmitted during activation and verification.
* Content: published posts/pages are transmitted for semantic vector indexing.
* Chat Queries: visitor questions asked through the chat widget are processed to return contextual answers.

Settings are stored in your WordPress wp_options table and are completely removed upon uninstalling the plugin. For additional information, review your WordPress Privacy Policy guide under Settings > Privacy.

Telepítés

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add New
  2. Search for PlatoDev Content Chat Assistant
  3. Click Install Now and then Activate
  4. Navigate to Settings > PlatoDev Chat in your WordPress dashboard
  5. Configure your settings and click Sincronizar Conteúdo Agora
  6. The chat widget is now live on your website!

Shortcode Usage

Display the chat button anywhere in your content using the shortcode:

(Note: [wp_rag_chat] and [ai_rag_chat] are also supported as backward-compatible aliases).

Does this plugin run the AI model directly on my WordPress server?

No. Modern AI large language models and vector embedding algorithms require dedicated GPU and vector database infrastructure. The WordPress plugin connects your site to the hosted cloud backend, synchronizes your content, and renders the frontend chat interface.

Do I need a paid license key to use the plugin?

No. You can use the plugin freely by connecting your Google Gemini API key and backend endpoint in the settings. A paid license key is only needed if you subscribe to a managed Pro or Business plan for fully managed cloud hosting, automated cloud synchronization, and dedicated support.

How do I synchronize my content?

You can click „Sincronizar Conteúdo Agora” in the plugin settings at any time, or choose an automated background verification interval (e.g., every 6 hours, 12 hours, daily, or weekly).

Can I customize the chat appearance?

Yes. You can customize colors, icons, animation effects, button position, drawer vs modal format, titles, and placeholders directly in the admin dashboard.

What post types can I index?

You can select any public post type registered in your WordPress installation, including Posts, Pages, WooCommerce Products, and Custom Post Types (CPTs).

What is RAG and why is a RAG Chatbot better than generic AI chat?

RAG stands for Retrieval-Augmented Generation. Instead of relying purely on an AI model’s generic pre-trained knowledge (which often leads to hallucinations or out-of-date answers), a RAG chatbot searches your WordPress content first, extracts the most relevant paragraphs using semantic vector similarity, and provides them to the LLM to generate an accurate, source-backed answer.

Can this AI Chatbot answer questions about WooCommerce products?

Yes! Simply select the WooCommerce product post type in the synchronization settings. The chatbot will index product descriptions, prices, features, and specs so visitors can ask questions and receive instant product recommendations directly in the chat widget.
